University and Employer: an effective partnership for attracting, training and employment of foreign students

Currently, state support for Russian higher education system is implemented through federal projects aimed at improving
the competitiveness of the leading Russian educational institutions at the international and regional markets.
One of the universities global recognition criteria is their position in the global rankings, which, among other factors, take into
account the training of foreign students’ quality indicator, as well as the reputation score that is defined by employers.
Traditionally, the in majority of Russian universities international cooperation and employment assistance issues are developed
autonomously which leads to an absence of close contacts between universities and international service units responsible for
liaison with employers. Moreover, compared to the existing effective models of interaction between universities with Russian
companies in terms of graduates’ employment, cooperation with foreign employers to form an order for training and participation
in the educational process is a highly relevant issue that requires attention.
 
The aim of the conference is to discuss the existing best ways and promising models of interaction between universities and
foreign employers in order to attract foreign students and improve the quality of their training in accordance with the needs of
national labor markets.
 
The conference will cover the issues of university cooperation with different types of foreign employers: representatives of the
business community (foreign companies, international organizations with subsidiaries in Russia, Russian companies with representative
offices abroad, joint ventures), Foreign Alumni Association, foreign universities.
 
We would like to participate in the conference:
• representatives of international universities service unite dealing with the reception and training of foreign students;
• representatives of the universities departments dealing with employment of foreign students and Russian students abroad;
• educational programs managers in engineering, medical, agricultural areas of training.
• Russian and foreign employers who are interested in training foreign students in Russian universities, as well as Russian students
for future work abroad.
 
As for the conference speakers and discussants will be invited:
• representatives of major companies from Asia, Latin America, South Africa, Europe, the Middle East and other regions;
• Member of the Association of Foreign Graduates of RUDN University;
• Russian and foreign experts on the relations between universities and employers’ development.
 
The planned number of participants: 100 persons.
